Effective January 1, 2024, the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) mandates that both existing and newly formed corporations and LLCs file a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report with FinCEN. A Section 83(b) election involves sending a concise letter to the IRS, detailing your preferred taxation method for your equity.
